Attending a new university is a transition for the entire family. During Supporter Orientation, we will help you become acquainted with campus offices and departments, discuss how to best support your student through their transition to college, and provide you with resources you’ll use while your student attends Kennesaw State University.

How do I register for Supporter Orientation?

Students can sign up one guest to attend Supporter Orientation when they sign up for their New Student Orientation session. Supporter Orientation sessions are held in tandem with student sessions. Attendance for parents and family members is encouraged but not required.

What is the schedule like for Supporter Orientation?

Schedules will vary depending on the modality of your orientation session:

  • In-Person Sessions: In-person Supporter Orientation sessions will closely mirror the student schedule; required programming will be held from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, and optional programming will be held until 5:00 pm. While your student will break-out with their Orientation Leader for Academic Advising and course registration, you will be able to reconnect with them for lunch, the campus resource fair, and more.
  • Virtual Sessions: Virtual Supporter Orientation sessions are hosted via Zoom Webinar. Student sessions will be held using a separate Zoom link and meeting. While students can expect for their sessions to last most of the day, virtual Supporter Orientation sessions are hosted from 10am to 12pm. In-person Parent & Family Orientation sessions will closely mirror the student schedule, starting at 8:30am. While your student will break-out with their Orientation Leader for some of the day, you will be able to reconnect with them for campus tours, visiting the bookstore, and more.

More information, including a detailed schedule, what to expect, and more, will be sent to the supporter email indicated during sign-up within 48 hours of your scheduled session.
